I really love how incredibly ignorant this is. The old testament scriptures definitely have some obscure things, but these are all from Leviticus and Exodus. Leviticus means “relating to the levites” These were rules and rituals passed to down to pertaining to God’s covenant with Israel. If you read the bible in its entirety has a very different message, especially the New Testament. Christ’s message was a message of love, compassion, and salvation. You all should read the Bible front to cover, and see what you think. I’m willing to be many of you haven’t. Trust me, you’ll get a different impression, I know I did. I’m sick and tired of this ignorance. And it’s not just with Christianity, Islam is the same way. I’ve read a decent amount through the Koran, and it has some very good messages. So people, stop stereotyping religion and posting things like this. If you have taken the time to become informed, and still don’t believe/agree, then thats perfectly fine. But don’t be ignorant. that’s whats wrong with the world.
So all the genocide caused under the direction of god, plus all the silly and inhumane rules god gave, plus all the other unsavory stuff god commanded to do was ok as long as we say it was only for the Jews. Really? Really? (Except with the rules against homosexuality. Those still count even if you are not a Jew, go figure.)
I thought god was not like a shifting shadow that changes constantly (James 1:17, Psalms 111:7-8). So please, pardon the “ignorance” of all that actually take seriously the WHOLE bible and not just select parts of the New Testament like you.
In regards to stereotyping, I find it funny that posting a list of Bible quotes is qualified as that. Especially when we all know that if “It is written” (Luke 4:4) it must be truth. Isn’t all of god’s word supposed to be that?
Labeling others as ignorant when they are making a valid point (with the Bible of all things) has a lot to do with what is wrong with the world today. Going around throwing labels when you don’t agree with a set of facts does not help because the actual ignorance may come from someone you don’t expect (Matthew 7:3-5).
Take care.

PD:
Read the whole bible cover to cover. Twice.
