I am not a Christian nor am I an atheist (a word I’ve seen capitalized a lot today. It shouldn’t be.) But, I am a huge Ricky Gervais fan and this magazine cover is arguably one of the stupidest things he has ever done. Mom jeans on the bottom and crucified comic on the top? It doesn’t matter that this cover makes Ricky look like a fucking asshole. But, it does show that he’s bought into one of the downsides of when brilliant people become famous: He’s starting to smoke his own supply.
Is not that the cover is dumb. It is not. Some people just don’t understand what message the cover is trying to convey. That is why such people project their shortcomings on that which they do no get, can’t understand or simply do not have the mental acuity necessary to grasp.
